RHEL Linux Installation Procedure - RHEL 7 & 8

Here are the step by step screenshots for the installation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2(64 bit). 

 

Once you insert and boot your machine with the RHEL DVD, you will get the below screen. Select "Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2" and Press "Enter".

 

 

 

 

As you see the installation process is initiated

 

 

Select the Language preference

 

The Next screen contains almost all the configuration which has to be performed for the installation. Since we have already selected our Language and Keyboard preferences, we can skip that step here.

 

1:- We can select Date & Time  as per  our record :-

 

 

 

 

 

Select Americas/New York (Pls select as per requirement)

 

 

 

Keyboard settings should be English/US and Language Support (English (United States)

 

Installation   Source should be Local Media

 

Software select should be minimal (Automatic get selected) and kdump should be enabled also.

 

Next we need to configure partitions. So select "Installation Destination"

 

 

Select the hard disk which you have used to install RHEL 7.1, as for my case as you can see 16GB hard drive.

 

Also if you want the OS to automatically create the partition select the same or else for this article lets manually create the partitions

 

 

You can create a partition with the below list of partition types. Select standard partition

 

 

Click on the "+" sign to add new partition.

 

 

Select / partition and give size 11 GB (As per your requirement)

 

After Again click on + and add swap partition   and size of partition

 

 

After click on Done

 

 

 

 

After click on done and after pop will be open select Accept changes.

 

After click on begin   installation.

 

Installation process has been started.

Installation in  progress. (With Package)

 

After  complete  give  click on root password prompt .

 

Give the password in 2 times.

Click on Done  ( 2 times)

 

After installation has been complete and on finish configuration

 

In progess.

 

 

 

 

 

Click on Reboot

 

 

After reboot the system system started

 Login prompt appear.
